Every plan includes every feature
- Route management
- Chemical logging
- Service reports
- Billing and invoicing
- Online payments
- The mobile app for your techs
- Customer records and pool history
Plans differ only by how many pools you manage. The Free plan is a single admin; every paid plan has unlimited users. No feature is locked to a higher tier.
Pick any plan to start - no credit card on any of them. Free stays free on up to 20 pools, with no time limit. Every paid plan starts with 30 days free; add a card when the trial ends and billing starts then. If your route grows past your plan, we move you up automatically so you never hit a wall - and you can move back down yourself anytime, with your data intact.
See what you'd save
Most pool software charges per pool, per seat, or per tech, so the bill grows as you do. PoolBoss is one flat rate that caps at $249 a month, with no “call sales for enterprise pricing” tier. Here is how that looks against per-pool pricing as a route grows:
| Pools | Skimmer | PoolBoss |
|---|---|---|
| 20 pools | $98/mo | Free |
| 50 pools | $100/mo | $29/mo |
| 100 pools | $200/mo | $29/mo |
| 250 pools | $500/mo | $79/mo |
| 500 pools | $1,000/mo | $249/mo |
| 1,000 pools | $2,000/mo | $249/mo |
Use what you pay now to compare directly:
Based on $2 per serviced location per month, $98 minimum - their Scaling Up tier, where route optimization and quotes & estimates first appear. Their $1/location Getting Started tier ($49 minimum) excludes those. Assumes one pool per serviced location. Estimates use published list prices as of June 2026; your actual bill may differ.
$1,092/yr
$91 less every month
No credit card. Every feature included.
The free plan is a real plan, not a trial
Free covers up to 20 pools for a single admin, with every feature included: routes, chemical tracking, service reports, invoicing, and online payments. It's built for the solo operator getting off paper or a spreadsheet. Under 20 pools it stays free for as long as you use it: no card, no countdown, nothing to cancel.
If your pool count does grow past 20, PoolBoss moves you up a tier automatically - nothing is blocked to make you choose - and a free 30-day trial starts the day you cross. It runs a full 30 days from that day, not from a date on the calendar, and nothing is charged while it runs. Your first payment is due when the trial ends, billing repeats every 30 days from there, and your data comes with you. Your plan never drops on its own: if your route shrinks and you want to pay less, moving back down is your call, in Settings.
Online card payments you collect from your own customers through PoolBoss carry a platform fee on every plan, including Free. See our Terms of Service for the current rate.
Pricing questions
How much does PoolBoss cost?
PoolBoss is a flat rate by pool count: Free up to 20 pools, $29 a month up to 100, $79 up to 250, and $249 for 250 or more with no upper limit. Every plan includes every feature, and paid plans include unlimited users.
Is there a plan for companies with more than 250 pools?
Yes. The Fleet plan is $249 a month for 250 pools or more, with no upper limit, unlimited users, and every feature. A large operation never hits a pool cap and never needs a sales call to get a price.
Is there a free trial?
There's something better for a small route: a permanent Free plan. Up to 20 pools for a single admin is free for as long as you use it, with no credit card, no countdown, and nothing to cancel. Everyone else gets a 30-day trial, and it starts on one of two days. Pick a paid plan at signup and the trial starts that same day - full access to that plan's ceiling right away, no card, nothing charged. Start on Free and grow past 20 pools instead, and the day you first cross starts the trial - a full 30 days from that day, not from the day you signed up and not from the start of a calendar month. Either way nothing is charged during the trial, your first payment is due when those 30 days end, and billing repeats every 30 days from there.
What happens if my 30-day trial ends without a card on file?
It depends on the size you grew to. At 20 pools or under, nothing happens except the trial itself ending: your account simply becomes the Free plan, still with no card, still nothing to cancel, and every customer, pool, route, visit, and invoice stays exactly as it is. Over 20 pools, your plan is not downgraded and nothing is deleted. What changes is office access: the next time an owner or admin signs in, PoolBoss shows a single screen asking for a payment method instead of the dashboard, and there is no way past it until a card is saved. Your technicians are never locked out - they keep using the mobile app and finishing their routes as normal. From that same screen you can download all of your records - customers, pools, visits, readings, invoices, and payments - without adding a card. Adding a card charges it right away for the plan you were already on, because the free 30 days are over, and the account opens back up as soon as the payment goes through. If the card is declined, nothing is charged and you can try another card on the same screen.
Is there a free pool service software?
Yes. The Free plan covers up to 20 pools for a single admin and includes every feature. It's a permanent free tier, not a trial.
Does PoolBoss charge per pool or per technician?
Neither. Pricing is a flat monthly rate by pool-count tier, and every paid plan includes unlimited users. Adding a tech or an office user doesn't change your bill.
What's the difference between the plans?
Only how many pools you can manage, plus the single-admin limit on Free. There's no feature gating: invoicing, chemical tracking, service reports, and everything else are on every plan.
What happens when I get close to my pool limit?
You pick your plan when you sign up, and PoolBoss only ever moves you up from there. You get an advance heads-up as you approach your ceiling, and if you do go past it your plan moves up a tier automatically - nothing is ever blocked to make you choose, so if you import 500 pools on your first day, all 500 land. Your plan never drops on its own: if your route shrinks and you want to pay less, you choose the smaller plan in Settings and it takes effect at your next billing date with no proration. All your data and settings come with you either way.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No - not on any plan. Every paid plan starts with a free 30-day trial that begins the day you sign up, and nothing is charged while it runs. Free needs no card at all: under 20 pools it stays free for as long as you use it, with no countdown and nothing to cancel. If you start on Free and later cross 20 pools, that's the day your 30-day trial begins instead. Either way, your first payment is due when the trial ends, and billing repeats every 30 days from there. PoolBoss is pre-launch right now, so for now the way to start is the waitlist.
